On my previous visits to Maui I had stayed in the Ka'anapali resort area and I really wanted to experience another side of the island, both literally and figuratively! So, the last time we went, we did the drive to Hana and stayed for a few days at the Hotel Hana. It was wonderful! It was so peaceful and relaxing. I could have stayed there the entire time. Our cottage faced east, so one morning I rose early and took some sunrise photos from our deck.
We also drove up to Oheo Gulch, often referred to as The Seven Sacred Pools, which is inside Haleakala National Park.
Along the way....
Oheo Gulch....
After our stay in Hana, we did return to Ka'anapali where we spent the remainder of our trip. We had a beautiful view of the sunsets from our balcony at the Westin.
I love sailing, so we had to do a sunset cruise.....
For us, no trip to the islands is complete without a helicopter tour.
How else would mere mortals get to see scenery like this?
Or Molokai?
Or Elephant Rock, off the coast of Molokai?
Maui, we'll be back. :-)
